There are tons of varieties of tomatoes that are easy to grow and not to mention how beautiful they can be in your garden. They all have their unique size, shape, taste and even color. Let’s discuss some of the different types of tomatoes …
Beef tomatoes
The steak varieties are very popular and make a great ingredient for a sandwich. They are one of my favorites for the delicious sweet taste. These tomatoes are also very large and contain a fleshy consistency.
The Big Boy – This is popular and very large. I guess that’s why he was given that name. It weighs about 1 pound or even more. To adapt to the dimensions, it is better to dispose of 3 fruits per truss and provide support if necessary. Dombello – These are one of the best varieties of tomatoes with steak. This is due to the excellent taste; however they are not as great as others. Dombito- This is considered the ideal steak. They are about ¾ lb with thick, fleshy walls and a small number of seeds. The level of disease resistance is quite good and this is a great advantage when planting.
Ordinary varieties
Moneycross- If you get excited about making money, this can be a good choice for you. It is resistant to foliar molds and produces a previous crop compared to basic types. Moneymaker- This is a popular tomato variety and is a good choice for a beginner. The large trusses produce medium-sized fruits that are heavy. However, they tend to have a tasteless taste though. Ailsa Craig – this is another popular type that produces some brightly colored fruits that are medium in size. They ripen early and have an exceptional flavor. Alicante: this is a type of money maker that produces some heavy crops. It is resistant to the greenback and contains a good taste.
The new tomato varieties
These are some beautiful varieties of yellow, orange and stripes. These types are not very popular though. Some of them contain a sweet taste and are used in fresh salads. They are beautiful with their bright colors when they are in bloom.
Golden Boy – This is a great variety to grow if you want to get big yellow fruits. They are more fleshy than juicy and may be worth growing. San Marzano – It is a well-known Italian tomato. It is well used in many Italian dishes such as soup and spaghetti sauce, for example. It has the shape of an egg and contains a firm flesh. Golden Sunrise – This is a choice of the common gardener and is one of the best patio tomatoes. It is a delicious gardening tomato that produces medium-sized fruit.
F1 hybrid varieties
Supercross- The fruits are similar to the moneymaker but are more resistant to diseases than the relative Eurocross. They are also tolerant of the mosaic virus. Estrella: this type is known to be very resistant to the sick. Glass: It is a very common courtyard tomato and is also perfect for hanging a basket. Cherry Belle: has an exceptional taste and a good level of resistance to diseases and tends to run heavily. It is great for salads and snacks.
These are some of the best varieties of tomatoes for a vegetable garden among many others. The good news is that many of them are highly disease resistant, easy to grow and incredibly tasty.
